First run of this route, largely because heavy snow made the going very hard and footpaths from East Water looked heavy going. Bitterly cold day, ground frozen with much snow. Many snow drifts, took to fields on West Mendip Way. Huge drifts on Dursdon Drove. Arrived at Ebbor Gorge at sunset, everything covered in snow, truly mellow. Dusk on return, very tired. Shoelaces frozen solid.

Getting bitterly cold again after slightly warmer day, snow everywhere, sledging on hill down from Manor Farm.

Heroic attempt. Much snow, and temperature falling rapidly. Starlit night. Pavements slippery then frozen streams on ascent to Pen Hill. Well over knee deep snow drifts over fields - up to the stone walls on fenced footpath to the west of the mast, exhausted by the time I got back on the field, then yet more drifts. Forced on over Rookham, still more drifts. Bitterly cold wind on the top, more sheltered on descent. Footpath down to Ash Lane compacted icy snow.

Very heavy snow today, almost did not go out at all, then planned run around Blue School but decided to try this route after I started. Very slow, slippery and compacted snow. Very cold but not a bitter frost. Heavy snow throughout, especially on footpaths, but several other footprints so I was not the only one out. Probably the slowest I have ever done this route.

Freezing, pavements very slippery, grass solid frost, snow on ground. Some cloud otherwise starry, no moon. Had to go slowly, very cold by the end.
